|Göran Sveningzon, born 1964 in Jonkoping, Sweden, is a visual artist. Lives and works in the northern archipelago of Gothenburg.
His early production led to an initial exhibition in 1983 at the hometown art gallery. The following year he moved to Gothenburg. After two years at preparatory art schools he continued theoretical art studies at the University.
In the late 80's he developed an informal imagery from small watercolors, consisting of imprinted, sign-like stains. Most of his art from the 90's onwards reflect the interest in an intuitive, lyrical Tachisme.
His art has sometimes been intertwined with his work as a graphic designer. Equally important, it has acted as an independent contrast to the advertising world.
In 2012 he resumed his theoretical interest, followed by a university degree in Art and Visual Studies.
Göran's art is mainly characterized by the drive of intuition, including both humor and seriousness as well as the undefined spectrum in between.
In his latest work he explores the reduction of figurations. The series "Chromalyricals" from 2017 represents a poethic, contemplative and nearly monochrome art of shades and structures.
